For 7 hours a day I only have one little girl to worry about!

T's first day of 3rd grade (yesterday).

R's first day of 1st grade (today). I don't love the mohawk look, but he insisted.

Right before school today. Little miss potty training E wanted to be in the photo too.
It wasn't until after I took these pics that I figured out that my lens was smudged. That seems to be a chronic problem at our house.

uhm, you mean school, like school has already started for the kids?
aww...
(here it starts on 1 September.)
Yes, Szelsofa - We live in area so kid-dense that they can only fill the school with 3/4 of the kids at a time, so they have to space them out on a 9 weeks on, 3 weeks off system throughout the year. Year-round school.
They're growing up so darn fast!
so, this '9 weeks on, 3 weeks off' system is a specialty of where you live, and not a nation-wide thing.
but what's the case in other, kid-dense areas? do they stickto the 9+3 system, or create a system of their own?
and what effect this system has on teachers? i guess you need more teachers?
Miss T looks SOOOOO grown up!
Right, Szelsofa, it's not a nation-wide program. Most schools that do use the year round system use the 9/3 system, but it is dictated by the school district. There are 4 "tracks," A, B, C and D and each teacher just teaches one track. I wouldn't say there are many more teachers in the school than in a traditional school, just fewer kids in the school at one time. Most school districts are traditional.
I'll one up you on that. Starting Tuesday I have 7 glorious hours of solitude. I'm so excited I could pee my pants.
Yes, Christina, you win. Just 4 more years...
